November 10 and 11 - It is my pleasure to invite you to a free webcast, 'Five Leadership Essentials to Ignite your Global People Practices'.

valtera webinar

We are conducting this webinar to pose questions such as:

  • How can you manage with Bifocals on? One eye on the global marketplace, the other sensing the local conditions?
  • How can your organization do a better job of understanding the needs and preferences of your global talent?
  • How can you engage and retain human resource professionals with their unique role in this equation?

While organizational leaders have always needed to function effectively across different groups of employees, globalization has added a new element to the mix. The rapid growth of China and other BRIC nations, and the increasing reliance upon goods and services sourced from around the globe, have made managing people across geographic and cultural boundaries a critical topic for both experienced and inexperienced MNCs. Leaders' responsibilities as they relate to human talent range from high-level strategizing among C-suite leaders down to the more practical or tactical matters of line leaders and such matters as recruitment, selection, and development.

Leaders have the ability, indeed the responsibility, to influence organizational effectiveness by creating a workforce that is committed and engaged. However, to do a better job of attracting the "right" talent and retaining them over time, leaders must understand what employees in different countries are looking for in the employment relationship, ensuring a good match between what is valued and what is offered. Finally, whether your global leaders are working outside of their countries of origin (expatriates) or not, there are certain traits and skills that contribute to success in global environment and we will discuss some of those key characteristics.

Reignite your thinking around your 2012 global people practices by learning about the Five Leadership Essentials that will sustain your organization's competitive advantage. Dr. Kyle Lundby, Director, Asia Pacific Region for Valtera Corporation will examine employee perceptions of key organizational concepts (opportunities for development, leader effectiveness, satisfaction with pay and benefits, etc.) and their relative impact on employee engagement. Utilizing data from Valtera's recent global study of employee opinions, Dr. Lundby will examine how these opinions and drivers vary across multiple countries. With the same set of global data, he will also examine similarities and differences across countries in what employees look for in their employment relationship (i.e. what they value) and will close with a discussion of these global differences and their implications for leaders who work with global teams.
